Updated: May 6, 2019

ShiGGa Shay drops his comeback single ‘Paiseh’!

This is his first new music release since the 2016 viral hit ‘Tapau’. The single blends a fresh sound with his trademark penchant for Singlish, creating a red-hot earworm for the hip-hop fans.

Derived from the Chinese dialect Hokkien, “Paiseh” means shy, embarrassing or “to have a sense of shame”. The club anthem encompasses multiple languages - the national lingo Singlish, Mandarin and Hokkien.

About his comeback single, ShiGGa Shay shares, “I spent quite a bit of time in LA over the past 3 years, working with different music producers to develop a unique Singaporean sound. Throughout my career I have always been passionate about putting Singapore culture on the world map through Singlish.” The banger is produced in Los Angeles, United States, by music technologist/ left- field electronica artist, Mike Gao and Jordan Jackson, also known as OkayJJack, who is famed music producer and son of ex-American Idol judge Randy Jackson. The single is also mixed and mastered by OkayJJack and Kevin Gayle.

The music video set to be released on Friday 26 April 2019, is directed by Los Angeles-based film-maker Jay Ahn who has previously directed for music’s biggest names like Chris Brown, Jhene Aiko and Anderson Paak.

'Paiseh' serves as the lead single for a new era for ShiGGa Shay, with new tracks and collaborations with international artists scheduled for release throughout 2019. Original Article from : https://www.kkbox.com/sg/en/column/showbiz-0-635-1.html
